If you do take the tour then you also have the chance to see things through the eyes of the locals and also have the chance to eat at some great places you may not have found without this tour. There is the Liberty State Park where you can walk for a while before getting the shuttle to see the Statue of Liberty. The trip on the ferry makes this a slightly different day out and fun way to burn off energy. In the park there are playgrounds and bike trails as well as picnic areas. Another place to see in the Tear Drop Memorial made by Russia in memory of 9/11 showing all the names of the innocent people killed that terrible day.
